Xiangming Fanga, Derek S. Brownb, Curtis S. Florencea, and James A. Mercya perform a cost analysis on child maltreatment cases to estimate the average lifetime cost per victim. The research signified that the ramifications of child maltreatment are not only emotional and psychological, but also economical to a large extent. In fact, in comparison to other health problems the burden of child maltreatment is quite substantial. Thus, it’s crucial not only for the kids, but also for society that we focus on the prevention of the maltreatment of children.
