We have resources at the Foundation for Peaceful Parenting that are helpful for both problem solving and family communication.
We suggest reading Parenting Passport by Ann Corwin. This brief handbook provides a plethora of advice as a parenting reference whenever you’re at a point of indecision. This book discusses the importance of positive reinforcement and virtue, emphasizing the need for families to take note of what they wish to excel at, not just what behaviors they aim to avoid.
Another excellent reference for parenting and discipline practice is The Gentle Parent by L.R. Knost. This book provides insight as to how to form communicative, cooperative and healthy relations between the parent and child. This book provides both real life examples and practical applications of gentle, compassionate parenting and ways to properly handle difficult interactions with children.
